Ben Term 4 Writing Sample 2014

A good friend is having one or more friends in your life. friends can help you in all sorts of ways like sharing stuff together, having fun together, and even co-operating together. A good friend is sticking up for another. A good friend will share their thoughts with you.

An important factor is if you have a friend try and respect one and another. An significant friendship would last forever,  In order for your friendship to last forever you need to think of what you are going to say and you need to listen to each other but mostly your parents.

For the reason why you should have a good friend is that if you don't have a friend or a good friend you will feel left out and all you will feel is lonely. Thats why its good to have a friend or a good friend. Good friends are like having time out together.

A good friend might be their to provide when times are tough.

Term 4 Assembly

Mr Burt introduced team 5 by saying, “Time for team 5s performance”. Everyone cheered “Hooray”. I t was the Immersion Assembly for team 4. As the team 5 teachers got on top of the stage they started to paint.

It looked like they weren’t painting anything. It just was blobs of black and white paint. “Man this art looks weird,” I whispered to Howard. As soon as they finished they bowed to the crowd and posed in front of their  random painting. Suddenly they realised that the painting was upside down. Turning it over the whole school saw the paintings were 3 pictures of Mr Jacobson, Mrs Jarman and Mr Burt. I said to Howard “It looks cool”. As soon as they finished, Mr Burt said “We need to give 3 cheers for Team 5” Everyone said “Hooray!”

Watching team 5s performance was really fun. My favourite painting was Mr Burts because it looked skillfully painted and really effective.

As team 5s performance came to an end. Mr Burt wanted to say a prayer to end the first assembly of the term. Im looking forward for this term cannot wait to paint some pictures.

La Luna Paragraph

We have been trying to write a little paragraph about this short film called La Luna.

In the dark still night the stars were shining bright. The ripples in the water were spreading out in all direction as the boat was gliding along. With steady but powerful strokes the bulky man was concentrating as he rowed. Sitting quietly the little boy was looking at the stars up above and gazing into the sea..

Sky Tower Excursion

As we were standing on the platform I could feel cold air blowing onto my skin I shivered. I said to Damien, “I hope the train gets here soon.” As we were waiting for the train we were chatting animatedly. Suddenly we could hear the clickety clack of the train on the rails coming towards us. I said to the boys, “We are off to the Sky Tower"”. As soon as we got into the train my body felt warmer.

When people were walking past us in the city I could see the Sky Tower. As we arrived we saw strong and sturdy concrete pillars holding the Sky Tower. When we went through the entrance we saw some shimmering glass. As soon as we got on top of the Sky Tower we could see two wires for the bungy jump. Reaching up to the heavens the Sky Tower stood like a tall tree.

As we were standing in the elevator, I said to Wiremu “Look at the glass panel on the floor’. Through the glass I could see right down the elevator shaft to the bottom floor. As we got to the top of the Sky Tower I could feel my legs shaking.

As we were walking around the Sky Tower I could see a panoramic view of the whole of Auckland. Suddenly I noticed some other glass panels. I could see the road way down below with matchbox cars and miniature people. With courage I walked slowly onto it. It gave me butterflies and my heart was pounding. I said to Damien, ‘Man this is scary’.

As soon as we were eating our lunch I could see a person jumping off the Sky Tower with some heavy clothes on and a little harness on him.
Then we went down.

1: As we arrived we saw the Sky Tower standing strong and sturdy like a tall beacon.

2: When we were walking we saw the Sky Tower reaching up to the heavens.

3: We saw the Sky Tower stretching up high like a tall kauri tree.

4: We saw the Sky Tower reaching up to the blue sky.

5: When we were in the train we saw the Sky Tower.

6: As soon as we got to the city we saw the Sky Tower.

7: As we were laughing we saw the Sky Tower.

8: As we were eating at McDonalds we saw the Sky Tower.

9: When I was talking we saw the Sky Tower.
10: When people were walking past us in the city we saw the Sky Tower.

Writing description about diving

Ben:
As the diver balanced she was taking a deep breath before she sprung of the platform into a somersault. The audience was quietly watching her execute her maneuvers. She flipped over and over until she reached the water, with clean entry when she made into the pool you could see her swimming back up with a bright spark on her body.

Trip to Film Festival

As we were reading our books in class Mrs Nua came in to get some of the people who wanted to go to the Civic theater. As soon as Mrs Nua got us she went to the other senior classes to get the rest of the kids who also wanted to go to watch some cool movies. After miss got all the kids she told us to sit down in the street. Then she called out the roll of the people who got picked to go to the Civic Theater. As everyone got told to get in a pair of two she said, ‘we are off to the Civic Theater’ said Mrs Nua to us kids.

As everyone was hopping into the bus Mrs Nua was counting if 35 people were going into the bus. As everyone hopped into the bus the bus driver closed the door and said off we go to the Civic Theater. As we were on the road we were singing lots of song like the wheels on the bus goes round and round. My partner was Isaiah From class 5.

As we got out of the bus we arrived at the Civic Theater in Auckland city. We got asked if anyone wanted to go to the toilet because we are not allowed to go the toilet  during the Film Festival. As people were going into the Theater the got asked by the security to sit in a row. We got put in row 4 or 5 soon as we got putted in a row we had to sit down before the Film Festival starts. Then a man came up to the front of the stage and introduced all of the school to the Film Festival.

When he finished introducing all the school he turned all the lights off. Then the curtains went up and then one film started to play the first film was about some kids who had special mums but one kid had a mum who was a aeroplane that could fly. Then there was a big storm and a tornado the kid was scared the nearly got caught from the tornado. Then the storm and tornado stopped. As it stopped it started to rain and the kid forgot to explain about his dad the dad was a boat. Everybody started to laugh hahaha.

As I was waiting for the ref to blow the whistle then he blowed it now the game has kicked off seeing Point England Kicking off the ball to St Peters one of the guys catches the ball he runs it up to Auri and Auri tackles him with all his strength I saw all the boys hoping into the ruck and trying to get the ball to Point England’s side pushing pushing as hard as they could lots of people cheering let’s go Pt england then they got the ball to our side everybody saying yes. When I saw the fast Jabez run out by the corner and run as fast as he could and he scores hearing some people shouting lot’s of cheers like yes he scored harey! then tj went to kick the ball he was focusing then he kicked it he miss everybody going awwwww! but then he ran back to his team. Then it was halftime.

Then I went back to class packing up and getting ready to line up then Mrs squires said lets go and watch the second half of the other game. As we got there we started to watch cheering as loud I could hear lot of tackles but then St Peters scored I was saying awww come on point england as we were losing nobody scored at the end no one was talking.

When I saw St Peters cheering we won I fought they were being cocky. but then our boys went and shacked their hands and the coach of St Peters and thats when the game ended .

Samoan Language week

As soon as I arrived at school I went straight to the library to get changed into our Samoan costume. I was struggling to put on my I’e lavalava for our performance to launch Samoan Language Week. Miss Va'afusuaga came and helped. I was nervous because a distinguished guest was going to be there his name was called Sam lotu iiga. Soon as we got changed we had to go to the hall and sit at the back were Mrs Tele’a told us to sit. The whole school sang the samoan national anthem I was about to cry.

Then it was time for the teuila kindy to perform. As they were singing their last song it was time for the Senior Samoan group to go and get get ready. in the music room. Introducing us was Eden tuala saying her speech in the language of the beautiful Samoa. Then they started to do  their dance first singing along was the boys. After the girls it came to the strong Toa Samoan boys. I was leading our mighty haka saying these words. Samoa o ai le Toa 2x. And then Samoa la gagou o’e e gau le gau’a. The last word was to’e sau. I was so scared at first but then my nervousness went away.

after us was Tamaki college performing a song and a dance. after that Christians grandpa said a prayer for the end the assembly. After the assembly the Samoan groups had a big feed and a drink. When we got to class we did some work on the writing about the assembly yesterday. When I got to say malo to Sam he said malo back and he asked where my parents are from in Samoa I said my dad Is from Savai'i and my mum is from apia.

A world without sound would be strange and silent. we wouldn’t be able to enjoy music and people would find it difficult to communicate. it would be boring. sound helps us in many different ways. but what is sound.

how it vibration: IF you tap an object it will vibrate. but it will reflect back and it will come to your ear then throw to your ear drum. It will soon vibrate by shaking your eardrum BACK AND FORTH. THATS HOW OUR EARS VIBRATE BY OUR EARD

Assembly and Topic

1: Todays Assembly we learned about our new topic i like to move it move it. We started our Assembly by looking at every team in what they are learning in their team. After assembly we came back to class and we all learned  about science and sound. First we had to get in a group of three or four.My group was Lorenzo Tasesa Christen and me Ben. That was my group for science then it come to sound it was the same groups. What we learned ln sound was how we are going to explore and how we are going to pick our instruments before we make our own instruments.

2: In assembly we watched all the movies from team 1 until we got to team 5. My favourite movie was team 5’s movie because how they filmed it and how they were using the music rooms instruments and they were happy in everything they to make that movie.

On April the 9th there was a FiaFia at Pt England School. The first group was the Senior Maori group all the way from Pt England school. There one was amazing after a couple of groups it got to my group the senior Samoans. I was the leader of our Toa Samoan haka It was awesome.

After Fiafia Mr Burt would tell the kid’s to go to their changing rooms. After we got changed we had to wait until our parent’s will come and get us. After 5 minutes my parents was still not there so I had to go and wait with Mrs Nua in the breeze and there was my parent's Soon After I got in our car we drove back home and had a little rest.

Show not tell of fear

Darkness was near as I was walking home from training. “I’d better hurry up before my parents get worried. I thought to myself. As I started walking through the alley way I heard footsteps behind me I felt like I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I was walking and walking till I got to my house soon after I heard a bang noise I duck down its a gun I saw a person behind dark shadow and holding a gunned shaped gun I was getting worried.

My Highlights of the year

My Highlights of the year

My first highlight is when Pt England School had a massive FiaFia night  I was in the Samoan group. It was an awesome night I was nerves at first but when we heard that we had to take off our tops that's when I got more nerves. But I was okay after that. The best dance I think was the Tongan boy's dance after our dance we had to go back in the room we came from when we got changed. We had to go to the tusi-tala Room. After that we all went home and that my first highlight.

My Second Highlight of the year Is when I first came to school. Mrs Nua was calling out people's name and there class to go to. When Mrs Nua called out my name and my class this is what she said Ben go to Room 22. I stood up and started to walk into Room 22 It was fun getting to make new friends.

My third highlight Is when we had athletics It turned out to be really fun. The first thing we did was when we had to go line up in our year lines. The first thing I went and did was the sack race it was annoying after we had to get out off the sack's we got hair stuck on us. Soon after We went to tiger war It was extremely awesome. And that my highlight of the year.

My learning highlight's is when we did the writing test I did five paragraphs. It nice and peaceful that time and I wonder what I got for writing this year I hope its a good report.

The Point England Way

It all started back in 13 years. The Pt England way means that we get on better with other people. Be respectful and being honest meaning like we have to use our w.i.t.s and to strive to succeed. Pt england way is a big logo to Pt England school. Bye using this logo we have to respect take care of others and to try your best in every way you can do your and to be good wherever you go around areas and to be kind and listen to the school rule and listen.

Otalane and melesia helped the school to make these rules to make people get on better as Mr Burt said.
Theres one other rule was to use your w.i.t.s  w means walk away i means ignore T means talk about it
and s means strive to succeed. It is good to have rules in school to when you grow up its special that people made these Rule 1: is to follow the rules  2: is to respect that rule.

Show not tell

SHOW NOT TELL 1.Mary’s sister was waiting in the car, she was pressing down on the steering wheel. While she was moaning in the car Mary was looking for her shows. Her legs were as fast as the wind. Her hands were digging through cloths like a truck digging mud out of the ground. Mary’s sister’s face was getting red.

2.It was the last minute of the final match of the basketball competition. Tama had to shot  penalty shots to win the finals. All of the team was relying on him. Looking at the hoop Tama was trying to concentrate but there was lots of noise.

He bounced the ball about 5 times then hopped of the ground and flung his hands out in front of him. Flying across the court the ball hit the edge of the rim, rolling round the hoop it went of the side and miss. He missed the rest of the shots and then the other team jumped up with pride.

Tama was sad. After the game one of the teammates was talking about him. He lost his mind and through a fit/tantrum.
